Creamy Banana Bread Porridge

 

These dreamy oats taste like a creamy bowl of banana bread with cinnamon and maple syrup there is nothing more satisfying to start your morning. Porridge is high in fiber to keep you feeling full until lunch time and with the addition of bananas and cinnamon your blood sugar levels will stay balanced giving you steady energy.

 

 Serves – 2

 Prep time – 5 minutes  Cook time – 5 minutes

 

Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

2 cups milk of choice

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 ½ whole ripe bananas mashed

1 tablespoon pure maple syrup

 

Toppings pictured (optional)

1 banana

4 large strawberries

Half punnet of blueberries

1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds

1 tablespoon goji berries

1 teaspoon coconut shreds

 

Method

Grab a small saucepan and bring your milk to a boil. Add the oats, cinnamon, mashed bananas and maple syrup, stirring until well combined, thick and creamy for around 5 minutes. * If at any stage the mixture feels too thick, additional water or milk can be added in small increments.

Divide the delicious creamy banana bread porridge into two bowls topping with more fresh banana and berries or whatever fruit, nuts and seeds you have at the time!
